ChatGPT gave me the tagline for this blog, in-fact it gave me a lot taglines for this blog, but this was the one that really resonated with me. I find I spend a lot of time coming up with plans in my head about what I should do next to try and better myself so that I can push forward in my career and ultimately life… Should I learn how to code? Should I try and move into finance? Should I try and build that app that I’ve got going around in my head? Recently, I’ve found that I have been bouncing between lots of ideas without actually progressing with any of them – that changes now.

AI is everywhere. Whether you’ve used ChatGPT, seen AI-generated art, or heard about machine learning in the news, it’s clear that this technology is reshaping our world. I consider myself a bit of a tech enthusiast and I’ve spent hours playing around with the different AI tools that are available online. From asking ChatGPT to plan a trip around Australia to trying to generate code to build an entire app (unsuccessfully), I have had lots of fun using new AI technology. 

Whether we embrace it or not, AI will play an even bigger role in our lives as models become more sophisticated and technology advances. I often find myself wondering how the technology actually works and what other use cases it could be applied to. And so I’ve decided to embark on the journey to learn the skills required for AI Engineering. I think it’ll compliment my current skillset, create new job opportunities, and – most importantly – I’m interested and I enjoy it! 

I’m starting this blog to document my learning journey – talk about what topics I’m covering, how I’m learning and whether I’m enjoying it! I’ll also be sharing my thoughts on the latest AI & Technology trends.

If no one ever reads this, that’s fine! This blog will be a mechanism for me to reinforce my learning and form opinions on current AI applications and trends. But if even one person reads this and is inspired to embark on their own learning journey, it teaches them something new or provokes some meaningful thought into AI technology and its applications – I’ll count that as a success!
